We have a new blog post for you from the lovely new Mrs Riley - Becky sent us over some pictures of her Sorrento wedding so we sent her a barrage of questions back (which she kindly answered for us) to create the story behind these fabulous pictures.
A few lines about your special day: We first went to Sorrento in 2015, a year after getting engaged in Rome to look at the venues and fell in love. We decided on a small intimate wedding - some of whom had flown all the way from Australia. We tried to keep it simple in terms of decor as both venues were simply stunning as they already were. I just wanted the day to have a traditional Italian feeling to it, so we had a little lemon cart outside of the ceremony venue for the guests, providing fresh lemon slush which went down well! A guitar and mandolin player at both the ceremony and reception for apertif hour and hired an Alpha Romeo Spider for the wedding car. The weather, the venues, the people and everything was just amazing!
Dress Designer and Style...
Dress: I went for a soft Mermaid style dress by Benjamin Roberts from their 2015 collection which I found at Emma Louise Bridal in Bolton.
Flowers: I went for an Artificial Silk Peony, Rose and Hydrangea Bouquet from the fabulous Foam Wedding Flowers by Joanne in Liverpool. Perfect for a destination wedding and I get to keep my bouquet forever. The bridesmaids had a smaller version with spray pearls.
Bridesmaids: I had 3 bridesmaids, Imogen my step daughter and my two sisters Samantha and Sarah (Sarah travelled all the way over from Australia to Italy for the wedding) They wore a mint green dress by Alexia Designs that we found in Glamour Bridal in Bolton. The shop had named these dresses Sorrento, which we only found out after picking them...it was meant to be!
Flower Girl: My Niece Evie who travelled over with my sister from Australia for the wedding. I got a beautiful picture of her wearing my shoes!
Wedding Venue...
Ceremony: Our ceremony was at the stunning outdoor venue Saint Francis Cloister in Sorrento. Our reception was at an old farm house Tenuta Montecorbo, up in the Sorrento hills over looking the Island of Capri. We found this through our planner Don Pedro Wedding Organisers.
Cake/Catering: Don Pedro Wedding Organisers did all the catering for our reception, we didn't actually plan on having a cake but my Mum secretly arranged one for us with our planner and surprised us with it on the night.

Shoes...
What Style: Betty in Ivory/Champagne
What made you choose that particular style? I always wanted a vintage look shoe with and t-br and cross over straps but couldn't find anything to fit the bill. The I came across a picture of CM Betty's and I instantly fell in love. They were my dream wedding shoes and perfect colour for my style...I couldn't have designer anything more perfect myself. Then I found out about all the extra special little touches on the shoes, the heart on the back, the sixpence, the engraved poem on the bottom and the something blue sen in and I was complexly blown away. All the little touches and extra's from CM really did make me feel special and I'm over the moon that I chose to be a CM Bride.
How would you wear your CM Shoes again? I'm not generally good with heels and tend to stick with flats but these really were super comfortable and lasted all day and night on my wedding day so I can't wait to wear them again! Whether dressed down with skinny jeans dressed up for a special occasion.
Advice for any bride-to-be's? Enjoy every moment of both the planning and big day, it really does go by in a flash. My only regret is not having a videographer, whatever you do budget one in! On the day just step back, relax and enjoy the day so have worked so hard on planning.
Lots of love Mrs Riley xx
